Plenty of fruit, well-integrated oak, a good drag of (ripe) tannin and a juicy finish. This is merlot, open and accessible but sans compromise. You get flavour and softness but you also get structural integrity; there’s nothing gloopy about this. Apple juice acidity is the only distraction but it’s offset by tangy notes of strawberry and redcurrant; in any case, everything else here is in a good place.
